LIFELINE Medical Transport Service Ltd, established in April 1997, are a dedicated medical transport service to the National Health Service. LIFELINE provide vehicles for the transportation of Patients, Medical Teams (Retrieval and Crash) and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.  
LIFELINE co-ordinate and transport organs for transplant, blood for transfusion and samples for pathology or microbiology analysis, which may include blood, urine or other human tissue. LIFELINE also transport medical records, X-rays, scans, CD-ROMs and medical equipment.
LIFELINE are the main service provider for GP collection services for Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Wansbeck General Hospital , Ashington, Northumberland. LIFELINE are also contracted to Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to provide 24/7 emergency transport, for their Transplant and Paediatric Units, 365 days a year.
